Makers “Outstanding” at the LRWA Awards

Table set up at LRWA 2023 Gala DinnerNow in its 5th year the awards have gained immense traction with a 40% growth in contractor membership and a scramble by those key suppliers and manufacturers to be seen and visible within the industry.

The judging this year has seen the evaluation of over 200 projects with only the very best making the shortlist in 4 categories with the 20 finalists being announced in January 2023, together with the headline sponsors.

The awards were originally set up to celebrate the great and the good and to emphasise the professionalism being displayed throughout the industry and its ability to deal with significant problems and complexity of waterproofing.

Arrival of guests at LRWA Awards 2023On Wednesday 22nd March in front of a sell out arena over 300 people attended to pay tribute to their industry and recognise those companies and individuals who have displayed the highest standards of quality, professionalism and workmanship in one of the fastest growing sectors in the UK roofing industry.

“We are continually amazed by the calibre of projects our members are achieving and the drive to excellence is underlined by the finalists we celebrate today. We continue to work and support them in an industry that is going through rapid growth, so these awards provide confidence to those outside the liquid sector to consider the very possibility of liquid solutions”.

Sarah Spink, LRWA CEO

For the first time in its 5-year history the Association has also awarded a “Highly Commended” commendation for the runner up in each category, recognising 8 impressive projects across the 4 categories.

Liquid Roofing Project of the Year under 1000m2, Liquid Roofing Project of the Year over 1000m2, Liquid Roofing Project of the Year in a Buried Application and finally Liquid Waterproofing Project of the Year.

Makers LRWA 2023 Award and Certificates“To be honest, I’m still in shock, 2 highly commended and a winner in Project of the Year is outstanding… I must admit I went through the full gamit of emotions, initially disappointment as Middleborough was announced as Highly Commended as I thought there was no way we would get 1 and 2 which is truly remarkable.

I am so delighted for the teams here today who have worked immensely hard and demonstrated their skills and level of commitment across our roofing and parking sectors. It’s just been amazing and we are truly delighted to be recognised”.

Simon Lamb, MD

“I’ve never won anything before and to go up on stage in front of so many people is terrific, I’m just staggered… It’s just been brilliant”.

John Linskey, Makers Site Manager

The awards continue to showcase the great and the good and we would like to express our congratulations to all the finalists, winners and everyone connected with the Makers Projects.
