Makers Visits UK Concrete Exhibition

As well as understanding the past technology it is always advisable to understand and appreciate the developments that are happening with the world of concrete and how concrete is being changed and adapted in form of waterproofing, reduced water content and additives.

Against a growing demand for world concrete the focus has leant towards reduction in CO2 particularly in the precast concrete sector, with replacement products from the recycling sector finding their way into design mixes against some of the more traditional ingredients with higher environmental impact.

This year’s show has a series of seminars covering all aspects of the industry including innovation and sustainability, together with the move to alternative fuel sources.

This year saw an innovative process whereby each exhibitor has 5 minutes to promote their product at “Speakers Corner”. The day is divided up into sectors whereby those in the relevant sectors get to pitch their wares to a captive audience!

The Concrete Show also has a number of awards from Best New Product to Best Safety Innovation which are chosen from attendees during the day.
The show is now in its 11th year and continues to grow and now being based at the NEC allows for easy connectivity throughout UK and Europe.
