Brexit Carnival at intu Awards
On the night that the UK formerly left the EU, carnival celebrations were happening at the Moat House Hotel, Stoke-on-Trent to celebrate the intu Potteries Retail Awards.
The retail sector has found trading very difficult so all the more reason to celebrate the great and the good in the industry.
Attended by over 300 people who enjoyed a festival of fun with welcome drinks, 3 course meal, calypso dancers and live music the venue provided a backdrop in which to celebrate.
Operations Director Darren Wootton was on hand to present the Women’s Retailer of the Year Award which went to New Look and was collected on stage by Kirsty Yoxall, Rachel Sidley-Wilshaw, Clare Johnson, Shereene Daisey May Malkin who beat Next, Primark and River Island to the Award.
“We are absolutely delighted and quite shocked that we beat the other outlets as they are stiff competition, we are just blown away.”
Women’s fashion is seen as key barometer to the measuring the condition of the high street and seeing such positive feedback from the customers at the Potteries is excellent news for the future.
“It’s been a very difficult time for both the high street and shopping destinations but these awards have a significance and impact on those who receive them and we are delighted to be associated with the Awards.”
Darren Wootton, Operations Director
