On the night that the UK formerly left the EU, carnival celebrations were happening at the Moat House Hotel, Stoke-on-Trent to celebrate the intu Potteries Retail Awards.
Attended by over 300 people who enjoyed a festival of fun with welcome drinks, 3 course meal, calypso dancers and live music the venue provided a backdrop in which to celebrate.
Operations Director Darren Wootton was on hand to present the Women’s Retailer of the Year Award which went to New Look and was collected on stage by Kirsty Yoxall, Rachel Sidley-Wilshaw, Clare Johnson, Shereene Daisey May Malkin who beat Next, Primark and River Island to the Award.
“We are absolutely delighted and quite shocked that we beat the other outlets as they are stiff competition, we are just blown away.”
“It’s been a very difficult time for both the high street and shopping destinations but these awards have a significance and impact on those who receive them and we are delighted to be associated with the Awards.”
Darren Wootton, Operations Director
The event was hosted by 2 Brazilian carnival dancers who announced the contenders and winners across the 12 categories. As well as the coveted Women’s Retailer of the Year, World Class Customer Service went to Lush and Retailer of the Year went to Primark.
Rachel Jackson into Potteries General Manager regarded the night as a great success with a brilliant atmosphere. We are delighted by the number of retailers who attended and offer a huge congratulations to all the winners and a massive thank you to all our sponsors.
The Winners are voted for by the general public throughout the whole year accumulating in the Awards Final.
“Now in its fourth year, the event is going from strength to strength with more and more interest. This year was even more poignant as we celebrated into the night which also marked our departure from European Union which at the time, we arranged it was totally unforeseeable. We are delighted that everyone had a great time and we are already looking forward to next year!”
Makers would like to offer its congratulations to all 12 category winners and wish them every success for the rest of 2020.
