Makers is delighted to announce the appointment of Luke Brighton to Estimating Manager, and Matthew Hewetson to Commercial Manager.
Luke has a very busy year instore as he also weds his fiancé Kelli Hailstone later on in the year which we are reliably informed by Luke should be the “celebrity wedding of the year”. If you forget about ‘Megan and Harry’ of course!!
Luke joined Makers back in 2005 as a trainee estimator and in that time has worked on many bids and with several different senior estimators. During his time, he has gained a B.Sc. (Hons) in Quantity Surveying and more recently has been taking the lead role on some of the prestigious project wins such as the Watergardens in London.
Going forward Luke will be leading his team of estimators, ensuring that their continual growth and development meets the demands of the business.
Matthew is the product of the training programme that was introduced by Managing Director Simon Lamb back in 2000 and has followed the Quantity Surveying Programme attending day release at Birmingham City University and achieving a B.Sc. (Hons) in Quantity Surveying.
Over the last 4 years Matthew has been operating as Lead Surveyor throughout several projects but his promotion to Commercial Manager will see his team and portfolio expand to ensure the financial integrity to wider aspects of the business and impart his knowledge on a developing young team.
Matthew will have a strong focus on contract delivery through supply chain control and is working closely with Directors to lead his team of 4 quantity surveyors to manage the significant growth being experienced throughout the business.
