A full car park refurbishment was required for Multi-Storey Car Park of Festival Place Shopping Centre, with its 1.1 million sq. ft of retail and leisure.

Festival Place Shopping Centre in Basingstoke is the UK’s seventh most affluent town attracting 22.4 Million footfall per year and is the largest shopping centre in North Hampshire.

It boasts a massive 2,500 parking spaces over 5 floors in 3 separate parking areas, A, B and C which is built with steel frame and concrete slab.

The top decks were experiencing ponding water and the exisiting run offs to drains were insufficient.  The existing deck coatings were no longer waterproof and causing leaking to lower decks and shops below.  The expansion joints had deteriorated and had come to the end of their life cycle.

Due to water seepage there were badly corroded steel works on all levels.  Levels 1 to 4 were displaying significant signs of failure with existing deck coatings coming up in sheets, causing cars to slide when braking.
