Makers at the 25th British Parking Awards

British Parking Awards 2026In its 25th year the British Parking Awards has become over time the OSCARS of the parking industry where the great and the good of the parking world come to celebrate.

Held at the Royal Lancaster Hotel the awards will now host over 26 individual category awards to what will surely be a packed auditorium of over 600 attendees.

This year saw over 160 entries whittled down to today’s finalists covering a multitude of disciplines from front line operators, new build car parks and lifetime achievement awards.

British Parking Awards 2026

The drink reception lead into the gala dinner hosted by female comedian Angela Barnes of Mock the Week fame.

Makers were attending with their construction partner Baxall Construction who submitted the entry of Royal Victoria Place Tunbridge Wells. RVP was up against 2 very strong contenders in:

• St Mary’s & St Johns multi-storey, Colchester,
• Bell Street Green Transport Hub, Dundee,
• Royal Victoria Place, Tunbridge Wells

The winner…. Bell Street Green Transport Hub, Dundee

“You can’t really hide your disappointment in not winning, especially after being successful last year and somehow, you feel you’ve let down your client, but they have been immensely excited about the whole occasion and delighted with the outcome.

I offer my congratulations to the team at Bell Street, I know how hard it is to win and what it takes, so well done!

British Parking Awards 2026

To the BPA thank you for recognising RVP and presenting the project with Highly Commended Award, it goes some way to temper the disappointment. Royal Victoria Place is an excellent project, it’s excellent for the people and community at Tunbridge Wells. I am incredibly pleased with the outcome and the role that Makers played within this scheme playing a lead role in the design and delivery team. We have shaped RVP for many years for the future; I am delighted it received some recognition for the team but am more satisfied with the outcome of the car park itself from the position we started.

I know in a few days the awards will all be over and it’s on to the next year, but these schemes don’t leave you, you leave something of you in them”.

British Parking Awards 2026To all the team at RVP and those who were unable to attend, I am sure there will be many opportunities to attend in the future perhaps we should enter more categories but for me you were MY Parking Team of 2026.

Congratulations and well done!
