Halloween intu Awards

11When the intu awards were booked Halloween and Brexit were to coincide. As fate has rolled its dice the Brexit Saga rumbles on but the intu retail awards held fast.

On a night of ghosts and ghouls Nottingham City Centre resembled a scene more akin to the apocalypse and the intu retailers also joined in in the festivities arriving in fancy dress to mark the occasion.

Hosted by one of Love Islands very own celebrity contestants Curtis Pritchard ensured that proceedings ran smoothly, ensuring both sponsors and winners were at hand to collect and receive their awards.

Held at the Penny Lane Bar & Club, visitors were taken back in time to the traditional penny arcades and fairground games. Makers along with other sponsors ensured that all games were free to use for all the invited guests with prizes on offer.

“What a fantastic venue, it took me back to my childhood, trips to holiday camps where I remember some of these games. I hadn’t played on a pinball machine for years and the Derby horse racing was a favourite of mine when I was a kid. Great fun night, great idea”

Simon Lamb, MD

9Darren Wootton, Makers Operations Director was on stage to present to one of the category winners. In an evening of fake blood, ghosts and ghouls the event was supported by over 500 retailers’ employees with winners being selected by public vote.

In 2018 John Lewis took top spot but were unable to defend their crown with the intu retailer of the year going to “Nottingham Street Food” who scooped 3 Awards.
