We’re All Ears At Health And Safety 2017

IMG_3786In this day and age Health and Safety is at the heart of all construction activities.  The event at the NEC is supported by all major players in the field who were there to mark the 60 year anniversary of the British Safety Council.

The event hosts 4 lecture theatres from fire, dialogue and logistics, to its main conference theatre and with many up to date legal expert opinions the seminars are a useful tool to keep company’s up to date with the latest changes in legislation.

The 3 day event is a backdrop for over 250 exhibitors, new product launches and over 50 hours of free lectures and seminars as well as the opportunity to view the latest developments in the field Health and Safety.

“As Managing Director I also head up the responsibility for Health and Safety and this 3 day event is invaluable it enables me quickly assess new products or techniques that we can adopt as a business for a betterment of our employees…..

IMG_3779I have been particularly impressed by the Mercury Hearing team and we shall shortly be inviting Jason and his team to roll out a hearing protection programme which will involve bespoke ear pieces for our employees.  Although PPE is the last resort in protecting our employees, it must be fit for purpose but where possible should be the best in its field.  I have been impressed with the attention to detail and the ability to make PPE more personal which I hope will translate into lower costs and safer staff”

Simon Lamb, MD

“We are delighted to be working with Makers Construction, who fully appreciate all the benefits that bespoke ear plugs will deliver to their employees”.

Jason Gibson, Director, Mercury

IMG_3776The complete process takes about 15 minutes per individual following a hearing examination.  An inspection of the ears takes place to ensure no existing damage to the ear drums is present, this is followed by in insertion of a plug and then the injection of a hand blended silicone to provide a perfect fit to the ear.

Each person’s ear carries an individual signature just like a thumb print and will be different depending on the shape and intricacies of each ear canal.  The beauty of the injection mould system is that it can cater for the individual to create a perfect match to safe guard, the hearing process and comply with the control of noise regulation 2006.
