Makers Welcomes Their New Apprentices
Mick Stubbs and Dean Hubbard are the successful candidates to be chosen for the 2014 Apprentice Site Manager Programme.
The 5 year programme will see Mick and Dean study at Walsall College on a day release basis and complete a series of Makers modules through out each year.
The first 2 years will see Mick and Dean complete their NVQ Level 3 in Construction Management and gain their SSSTS qualification, and then progress to NVQ Level 4 in year 3.
Walsall was awarded “The Outstanding” accreditation by Ofsted in 2013, the first in the UK under the new framework. Walsall College specialises in Apprenticeship and on the job training and is delighted to welcome Makers apprentices over the next 5 years.
“Makers have developed a very sophisticated programme which runs in parallel with the college and course works, we are delighted to be able to support them in their vision.”
Andy Stubbs, lecturer in the Built Environment.
“I am sure the guys are excited and nervous, this is a step change for them. We are trying to make it as special as possible with the presentations of their vans at the college.”
Sean Allsop, HSQE Manager, Makers.
“This is a great opportunity to better myself and much appreciated. The course has shown me there are so many aspects to construction and I’m really enjoying it.”
Mick Stubbs, Apprentice Site Supervisor
“The programme is great, it covers all aspects of site management and I can see a lot of time, effort and money has gone into it and I feel honoured to be chosen. I have never been given an opportunity to better myself like this and I am very grateful for it.”
Dean Hubbard, Apprentice Site Supervisor
“Apprenticeships will be the lifeblood of our business going forward, and is a huge investment for us as a SME. We believe we have the right candidates to succeed and wish them well on their journey.
