Milton Keynes Gets Underway

Despite starting the project in the dawn of Spring, progress has remained strong despite the inclement weather we are experiencing in March.

Milton Keynes is a key retail site in the Intu Portfolio and the car park refurbishment and roofing works are only part of the continued investment by the Intu Brand.Makers Construction at Intu Milton Keynes

As part of this multi-million-pound investment the project will see the car parking facility improved with structural repairs, Triflex deck coatings and a full intumescent fire protection system following on from the situation at the Liverpool and Echo Arena Car Park where visitors to the International Home Show had parked their vehicles. The fire started by a single vehicle created so much damage that 1309 vehicles were totally destroyed and the structural fabric of the car park compromised to such a point that it will probably be demolished, despite the 12 fire engines and crew that attended the blaze but remained throughout the night in case of structural collapse:

“We are delighted to be starting this project and hopefully the weather will be kind to us so we can complete on time”

Darren Wootton, Operations Director

The works will be carried out in 4 phases and scheduled to be completed by the end of November.
