Health and safety is paramount to any successful operation and is at the heart of everything we do.

Centrally controlled we have acheived the OHSAS 18001 for a number of years and have been awarded ROSPA Silver and Gold awards.

In 2010 Makers received the International Health and Safety Award by The British Safety Council and have also become part of the SAFE Constructor Scheme.

In order to achieve this we have our own HSQE Manager who is responsible for ensuring our workforce is adequately trained for the tasks they undertake and are constantly audited throughout the year.

Due to the work sectors we operate in, we often come into close contact with the General public. Without the right approach to health and safety and contracting we would not be able to operate in our specialist fields.

Makers currently hold the Vice Chair position of “Staffordshire and Shropshire Working Well Together”, which is a forum of major constructors who help to educate and sponsor smaller construction companies. Backed by the HSE we are able to advance special topics and have advised Parliamentary Committees on the effect of health and Safety legislation upon SME’s.
