?When Makers asked me to attend site I really didn?t expect to be presented with an award,?. I am so delighted and it?s so unexpected but just typical of them. I feel very honoured and proud to be part of such a fantastic journey and is the icing on the cake??
Cristina Refolo, Refolo Landscape Architects
?After submitting the Watergardens Project for consideration by the NFRC you are never quite sure how it will go and to have the backing of our Roofing Body of the LRWA is something special. Cristina and James both attended the presentation dinner at the Intercontinental at the O2 in London back in May and heard all the positive comments and we were all amazed when it was called out. We were delighted when we were shortlisted and made the final but you never quite get your hopes up. Whilst it was great to get the trophy and award to mark the occasion the award reflected more than just Makers contribution and we only felt it right and proper that both the Church Commissioners for England and Cristina and her team also receive the accolade they so richly deserved. We wrote to the NFRC and asked for individually engraved trophies and we are delighted to have the opportunity to present them at the most fitting venue,?..the Watergardens itself..?

?I was truly taken aback when Micky, Willy and Simon presented me with a framed certificate and of course the national award?.we didn?t expect anything other than what was presented on the day at the awards which was fantastic, but now to receive our own to commemorate the project is first class..?
James Parker Church Commission
The awards individually engraved were presented by Willy McCrimmon, Makers Regional Construction Manager and Micky Ling Makers Site Manager for the project.
?It?s always great to comeback here and see how the gardens are settling down as well as to check on the fish. It was nice surprise for Cristina and the Client and as it was unexpected it made it all the more worthwhile..?
Willy McCrimmon, Makers RCM
? I have fond memories of this project and it?s always great to return and see how things are. I was surprised to see the return of the Heron after an absence of 18 months but the fish are much bigger now, ?.I am sure our little presentation will go along way with Cristina and James who without their contributions this project wouldn?t have been possible??
Micky Ling, Makers Site Manager
There have been many key contributions from our partners, suppliers, subcontractors and staff and all should take pride in the parts they have played to create such an outstanding project. Makers would like to extend its thanks and congratulations to each and every contribution made.
