Makers are again exhibiting at the annual, dedicated parking exhibition, Parkex 2012, to be held at Olympia on the 17th and 18th April.

You will know Makers as the Number 1 car park refurbishment and repair Company, with significant experience in looking after your car park issues and again this has been recognised in being awarded the “Best Car Park Refurbishment” award for the 4th time in our history and the history of the British Parking Awards, an accolade recognising the efforts of our Company and our Clients.  No car park project is too small or indeed too large!

We will again be showcasing the Emseal range of expansion joints, which together with car park decking, ensure that car decks are 100% waterproof and water is channelled down the drainage system.

Makers were delighted that Clients who had supported them during 2011, were able to take time out and enjoy the game which turned out to be a great advert for the game.

Wales eventually ran out winners with a late try but there were encouraging signs from a young England side.

The Concrete Show, hosted at the Ricoh Arena over 2 days, saw all the components relating to concrete, gathered under one roof, from Equipment Manufacturers, Material Suppliers, Contractors to Specialist Plant all representing the world of concrete.

This is the second year the event has run, growing significantly over it’s inauguration year (2011).  Makers were initial supporters of the show and are seen as lead participants in representing the special repair and refurbishment Contractors.

The new stand “we know concrete inside out” shows one of Makers employees within a 3D hole behind and within the structure. The strap line “the team behind your structure” is exactly that, a comprehensive team of Specialists, with the ability to solve problems on concrete structures, built today and in the past.

“We supported the show last year and saw it as a success, this year was a bigger affair with more facets of the industry supporting it.  As to its success, well we will have to wait and see, but we are pleased that we have been able to support the show again and use the opportunity to catch up with those people we have little chance to see through our busy schedules.

The Barracks MSCP has been shortlisted in the “Best Car Park Refurbishment” category with the awards being held at the Intercontinental Mayfair London on the 9th March 2012.

Iris an Ausa CE11 dedicated to one of the employees mums sees her first service at Derby along with Daffy a Tennant 6400 sweeper.

Part of the cancer awareness campaign, Kevin soon puts them to work carrying out emergency repairs and restructuring to the Assembly Rooms car park at Derby.

The emergency works will last 7 weeks which will see the car park closed for a period of time to ensure it is restored to a safe condition with structural repairs, deck coatings and new DDA compliant door systems.

The 21 storey building has an imposing view over the city, construction commenced in 1972 and was completed 3 years later, this structure comprises of a 7 storey podium and 21 storey tower.

Makers have been awarded the contract to repair the 2 building complex originally designed by Architects Richard Seifert and Partners who also designed the Alpha Tower in Birmingham.  The structure is now undergoing a 20 week programme of repair, corrosion inhibitor and sealant works to extend the facades life.

The project has taken 9 months to bring to fruition sourcing parts and forklifts culminating  in today’s dedication.

The Forklifts all presented in their “hot pink” colours also sported the names of the mums and the relevant awareness ribbon from which they suffered.

The Staffordshire based company has been involved with Makers “Pink Lady” campaign from its initial conception and has demonstrated it could provide excellent service with an in depth knowledge of the plant and machinery used by Makers.

The two year deal will see further investment by Makers in its plant acquisition, with Davisons completing onsite training and service agreements.
